Juneau in late September

We were previously in Juneau in June 2008 and visited the Mendehall glacier and were hoping to do the same the third week of Sept. Will the time of year present a problem with our plan?

Not at all. Prepare for rain but it has often been my experience that we get a run of good weather in September...a sort of Indian Summer with cool mornings bad sunny days that are great for hiking or wildlife viewing. Another plus is that prices go down and crowds are greatly reduced but everything is still open.

If the cruise ship season is done by the time you visit, the MGT bus out to Mendenhall will not be running....be sure to book a rental car......also the Mt Roberts tram will not be running if there are no cruise ships......but museums, trails and restaurants will all be open......
