Salmon on Chikoot River yet?

Have the salmon started up the Chilkoot River yet?

Is it just the beginning or is the river heavy with salmon yet?

We were up I believe the Chilkat river, and yes there were sockeye salmon. Not heavy, but you could see them.

The pinks are just starting up the river....very late this year, due to high water and colder temps, I believe......

Saw a couple catching them out of the Chilkoot Lake from the shore day before yesterday....

We have caught about a doze sockeye this year in Lutak Inlet, which the Chilkoot River empties into....The count at the Chilkoot Weir was over 28,000 sockeye for the summer, with 50,000 - 70,000 being the average......

So, not heavy with salmon, but hopefully they are just starting a little late.......
