Do Titikaveka and Muri bech have private/public areas?

Hi

If I stay at a hotel/resort on Titikaveka or Muri but the stretch of beach outside is busy and/or not as nice as a patch of beach further away, is it possible to walk along the beach until you find a nicer/quieter spot. Or do various parts of the beach belong to various hotel and you're either not allowed to stay that or can but have to pay?

Thanks

Vancouver...

Well, first of all, unless you are staying at one of the big resorts, I really doubt that the beach will be crowded. It just doesn't get crowded. Second, the theory is that the beach is owned by all the people of Rarotonga and open to all. In practice, some of the resorts are pushing this. Just remember to be a good neighbor; clean up your mess; pack out what you bring. I really doubt you will have any trouble walking along the beach. Take care and have fun. Chuck...

There are no private beaches on Rarotonga and as long as there is access from the road or you have walked from one spot to another you can ejoy the beach and lagoon.

You ask specifically about Muri and Titikaveka.

Titkaveka has white sandy beach and is very quiet.Muri is more populated.

Yeah, no worries. Walk the beach as you wish.

FYI - a crowded beach on Raro means there are maybe 10 other people visible on the beach (both directions, as far as you can see). Raro is not a wall-to-wall people on the beach kind of place - not by a LONG shot (that's part of it's charm). Most of the time you will likely have the beach pretty much all to yourselves (even on "crowded" Muri).
