Congratulations Rarogirl on your purchase. I wish you all the best of fortune for your new resort. Sounds like you've got some nice changes in store for an already pretty nice place.

Wow, very nice to have the new owner on here give such a detailed explanation. If only every place did that! Sounds like it should continue to be a great place to stay.

Welcome to the board!

Glad to have you on this board Rarogirl!

Congratulations with your new business.

I am glad to read you accept children. That's a fine decision of yours.

(I visited Elliot at the Shangri-la last summer).

We stayed at the Shangri La last March.

Our daughter was staying at another resort, and came to visit with her little girl. Elliot came charging out like a bullet demanding to know what she was doing there. They were walking quietly across the lawn toward our unit. I find that " no child policy" that a lot of the Rarotongan resorts have rather unrealistic. Gosh, we were all kids once!

I think the resort could do with some T.L.C. The gardens were really untidy. Lily tried, but she had enough to do.and gardens are more of a specialist thing anyway.

I thought the Shangri La had good bones, but lacked character.

It sounds like the new owners are just what this resort needs. They'll bring the love and care into the place that was definitely lacking before.

It sounds like they have some good ideas.Certainly there was a lot of room for improvement. Good on them I wish them all the best. It's a lovely spot and the rooms are nice.
