We are visiting Rarotonga in June. Do we need to book the day trip to Aitutaki before we arrive.
Thanks Maree (NZ)
Kia Orana Maree, welcome to the forum. The Aitutaki day trip rarely sells out. June is the beginning of high season so there is a slight chance it could sell out. If it concerns you or there is a specific day you want to be sure to go, you can book in advance and then you wouldn't have to worry.
But if you can spend more than a day in Aitutaki do it. It is such a beautiful place.
Kia Orana Maree, welcome to the forum.
With annual visitor numbers increasing, I suggest that to save disappointment you make a booking sooner if possible. If you are arriving over Queen's Birthday weekend, day-tour bookings are popular over this period with Kiwi visitors.
The day trip is a splendid way to visit Aitutaki, when a visit to the Cook Islands is short.
Enjoy your trip Kia manuia.
If booking your day tour in advance, I would suggest you book it for the beginning of your stay. In the unlikely, yet possible event, that the weather on Aitutaki is bad on the day you have booked your tour, Air Rarotonga will cancel the tour & give you the opportunity to reschedule it without penalty to you. It would be a shame to miss out because you booked your tour towards the end of your stay & find you've run out of days to reschedule it.
