Best Snorkelling Spot

Hello Island Lovers!

I was wondering which accommodation on Aitutaki has the best snorkelling out front? Because that is where I want to stay!

Kia Orana Joey, The accommodations located all along the west side of the island have good snorkeling. Since I don't know what your budget is, it's hard to recommend any specific ones. Some of the better snorkeling spots are at The Aitutaki Pacific Resort, Tamanu Beach, Etu Moana, Vikoa, Paradise Cove and Sea Side.

Here is a web site that lists most of the accommodations on Aitutaki: aitutaki-accommodations.com/Aitutaki_Accommo…

Kia Orana Joey,

A couple of lagoon spots to lookfor accommodation along Amuri beach (western side of Aitutaki) are Aitutaki Beach Villas as far as Matriki, and again around Aitutaki Seaside Lodges - northwards to the Marine Resources site. Between these two parts of Amuri beach, the lagoon is shallower with less water clarity and also less biodiversity.

The Pacific Resort Aitutaki has been involved in a lagoon restoration project very recently. The results will provide for more prolific & diverse biota in the immediate area, but the benefits should also radiate towards Aitutaki Beach Villas, Vaikoa, Tamanu Beach and Matriki.

All the best with your accommodation search.

We stayed at Tamanu Beach and found the snorkeling to be amazing. Taking out the kayaks and just looking over in the crystal clear water is great too. We loved the people at Tamanu Beach and their efforts to make everyone feel comfortable.

I will have to say that you must do a lagoon tour to see some of the other parts of the lagoon and the things that you can't see just from the beach. The purple corals, blue starfish and giant clams are sights not to be missed.

Were you not able to see blue starfish, purple coral and clams while snorkelling off the beach??
