Le Taha'a Resort - Dining options

Are there other dining options available nearby other than the restaurants on-site at Le Taha'a Island Resort and Spa? If so, any suggestions??

In Tiva, not too far from the shuttle dock is a pretty well known (locally) restaurant "chez Louise" not much to look at but fabulous food, they may pick you up at the hotel drop off dock, another good one is in the bay of Haamene, = further away) le "Taha'a Maitai" which is very nice to do for lunch (when doing the island tour...)as it has an outside terrace overlooking the bay and delicious food also. (for outside lunches best to reserve it being popular too)

We stayed at Le Taha'a 2 years ago and had dinner one night at Chez Louise's and it fantastic! The hotel made the arrangements for boat transfer and pick up at the dock. It's only about a 5-10 minute car ride from the dock.

Louise cooked up a wonderful meal of fresh seafood and it was one of our most memorable meals in FP! We're hoping to get back there on our next trip to Ta'ha.

As far as food goes at resorts, the food at Le Taha'a was excellent, probably the best resort food we've had in FP.

Was at Le Taha'a a few weeks ago and have to agree with the above poster regarding Chez Louise. They were great! You don't get a menu but the seafood was outstanding!!!

Did Chez Louise happen to have any chicken/beef on their menu? Crazy enough, I don't eat seafood

No chicken or beef. The dishes we had were lobster, shrimp, poisson cru, and some sort of fish with rice and bread.

Hello, could somebody please give the approximate cost of an entree at Chez Lousise.

What are the directions for getting there on foot after getting off the shuttle boat from the hotel?

Thanks

Hi hi,

The resort will make your dinner reservation at Chez Louise. You merely take the quick boat ride to the island & then the restaurant will pick you up via car at the dock and drive you to the restaurant/bring you back to the dock after dinner for the boat ride back to the resort..

They don't really have a menu, it's usually the catch of the day ie: seafood.

It is fabulous.......truly.

Otherwise you will be at the resort for dinner....a lovely place to dine. :)

sunny regards,

shully

hotcheese: total for us came to $130 CDN including 1.5L bottle of water.... it's basically 4800 XPF per person for the food which includes an ample amount (see my review) and dessert -- no menu.

not sure about directions by foot after you get off the boat because there is a car from the restaurant to pick you up (less than 10 min drive) -- which is free. It was really dark when we got there so I wouldn't recommending trying to walk. I would think it would be 30 min walk??

Not too sure as we paid by credit card. However, you can charge it to the hotel and when you settle the bill with the hotel during checkout, they might accept Euros...
