Tahiti in February?

We are considering going to Tahiti and surrounding islands in February. It will be out first trip to Tahiti. We are nervous about going in February due to the "rainy season". Any insight on how much it actually rains at this time? Is it an all day rain or an occasional rain shower? Thanks.

You can search these boards for more information about the weather... it seems to be a topic of endless fascination ;) Obviously, no one can guarantee what it will be like but, typically, we're talking occasional showers-- not some sort of all-day, torrential downpour. We have almost always travelled in late January - April, with most of our trips coming in February. In 8 trips during this period, we've had two days of "all day" rain. Everything else was absolutely lovely-- the occasional cloudy day and passing (5-10 minutes) shower.

amf1 is spot on.

Just keep in mind that a day in paradise with a bit of rain is better than no rain in Seattle .......
