costa rica dental clinics

If anyone has had dental work done at the clinics in Costa Rica can you tell me approximately how much money you save versus an american dentist. Im trying to figure out if its worth the cost of the travel. Also I have heard theres another city besides San jose that has some clinics has anyone been there?

I had a full-mouth restoration done.

Estimates in the US were between $50,000 and $75,000.

Actual cost I paid in CR: $15,000

On top of the savings, I got state-of-the-art Zirconia crowns that would have cost even more in the US...

Unfortunately, my former dentist has retired....Alas, there are plenty of recommendations to be found on this forum. Do a quick search...

Agilf, I had a full-mouth restoration done in 2011 by Dr. Prada of DDS. I posted about him on another Trip Advisor thread. Also check the Topix forum. There are other good dentists in CR, too. (And some bad ones, alas.)

I do not know why my message doesn't post.

I went to the AestheticDentistry Dentist Office, Dr. Cavallini because my boyfriend went there and he looks great. I had 8 implants and 21 crowns. There are 5 dentists there and a specialist in Endodentics. That is root canals and periodontal disease. Everyone there is so very nice and the dentists do not let you feel ANY pain. They are gentle and caring. About 60% of the people I met in the waiting rooms came because of recommendations, just like me. I met a lady who had finished her work 6 years ago and it looked great! She was there for a checkup. There was a guy from 10 years ago, too, and his teeth were still beautiful. There were 2 people who came from other dentists in San Jose. They got Dr. Cavallini's office to repair the bad work from the other dentists they went to in Escasu (part of San Jose, I think). I stayed at the Casa Marco Hotel attached to the offices because it was very easy and the desk clerk would tell me when the dentist was ready. I didn't have to wait in the waiting room and could take a nap or whatever. I really liked everyone working at the office and the hotel. They were only concerned with my comfort and making everything perfect for me. Thank you to everyone there. I recommend them for everything. A++++
