We are visiting over the NYE weekend and have booked a car through Rioja. Has anyone had any recent experience with them?

Rioja Renta Car is based out of Perez Zeledon, San Isidro.
They delivery their cars, most of the time its Luis the owner, or his wife that you'll meet.
There rates are average I suppose (I had a friend in CR put together a package for me) and when I tried to price things out my price was a few buck higher.
Their cars are decent, of course it would have been nice to have a Volkswagen (i'm a huge Volkswagen fan) but nobody else offered a VW so its not their fault. lol
Unheard of - sure; unbelievable service and reliable product - together - unheard of.

We are back from a wonderful vacation on the Caribbean coast. It is a relaxing and beautiful country and our travels went pretty much without a hitch.
A high point of the experience was our car rental with Rioja. It was a a very pleasant surprise and both the rental and the service exceeded all expectations. As I had left it rather late to reserve an SUV large enough for our group I had some difficulty finding anything. I tracked down Rioja but was a little concerned by the lack of info here online. I made the booking online and got a prompt response form Luis, the manager. I spoke with him via phone and confirmed everything. I then posted here and was reassured by the helpful response posted by navy721 - thanks!
I double checked with CAA and found their rate almost double for the same period so decided to go with Rioja. I'm very happy I did and the entire experience was a pleasure. The vehicle was an almost new Mitsubishi Montrero and we were met at the airport by Luis. He took care of all the paper work and had us on our way in 15 minutes. We had walked by some pretty long lines for the bigger companies so this personal touch was a bonus. We opted for a GPS and were glad we did. San Jose is a great city but a little confusing at first. The road to Limon and Manzanillo were fine and we had no problems whatsoever.
Our return went just as smoothly and we were met at the airport parking area by a Rioja rep and had the paper work settled and underway in less than 10 minutes.
Kudos to Luis and Rioja! Highly recommended!
Thank you good to know!
