Has Manuel Antonio National Park re-opened after storm Nate?

Hi everyone,

We are based in San Jose currently and are planing to visit Manuel Antonio National Park on 12th and 13th Oct 2017. We have contacted a few tour operators who have informed us that the National Park hasn't reopened. So just checking if anybody has visited the beach or National Park at Manuel Antonio after the storm Nate.

Thanks

At this time the Park is not open yet. I think they are assessing things on a day to day basis.

I have heard that Marina Ballena park near Uvita is open.

I am in the area now. We arrived on Monday on the public bus with no real problems.

The central part of Quepos and the tourist areas in Manuel Antonio were pretty much spared. It is a different story in other areas nearby like Paquita where there was severe flooding and many people lost everything.

The weather today and yesterday has been beautiful - hot and sunny. Restaurants and Hotels, stores and banks are open, although many places normally choose October to close for staff vacations or renovations - so you will find some places closed - but you would have anyway. But the monkeys are not on holiday,! 🐒

We have been serenaded two mornings in a row by howlers very close by and the mono titis passed by the trees at our place this this morning.

If I hear more about the park I will try to post.

You are welcome Asvts. And thank you very much for the realtime update on the park.

Enjoy your stay.

Especially now, Costa Rica needs tourists to come and enjoy the country.

I was there in October. it was closed for a few days after Tropical Storm Nate. Then it was closed for one or two days after that, due to very heavy rains. But it is up and running.

It is closed on Mondays.
