Iguana Verde Tours?

Anyone out there who has booked a tour once with Iguana Verde Tours? Thinking of booking a transport only tour from San Jose to Tortuguero for 45,- pp including breakfast: sounds reasonable!

Do not even consider going to Tortuguero as a day trip. It's definitely a place you need AT LEAST one night and preferably two.

Unless you fly, it about 160 miles from San Jose to Tortuguero.

If you are planning on staying in Tortuguero, then booking transport for $45 is fine.

I am planning on staying 2 nights, booking accomodatiob/tours seperately and saving almost 3 times the money I would spend on a full tour package.

OK David - sound great! Good for you!

I like independent travel to Tortuguero. It saves money and doesn't isolate you as much as staying at a resort that has a package.

Some of the hotels/lodges have their own canoes or kayaks and will usually let you use these for free or a modest charge. This is a great way to see the area - just wandering slowly around, looking at everything.

$45 for that transfer is a great rate, including the boat?, go for it.

Check the rate-where did you see this offer? Why would it include breakfast?

A single room at Miss Junies, associated with Iguana Verde, is also $45 including breakfast........perhaps some confusion here?

Dear David.

That is good fare...so glad you are avoiding the huge prices of some very old lodges around there...nobody until today knows why they charge so much...speacially one that is acroos the canal...Tortuguero... is an incredible place!!

Just be sure to check insuance and ICT certifications...some not very nice vehicles offering the services...some old Mercedez Benz vans are popular in that area...just check them out...but $ 45.00 per person including breakfast is a good deal!

Please enjoy our country as much as we do!
