Silly question

I know this may seem ridiculous to ask, but....Are rain ponchos easily found to purchase in Puerto Viejo? I'd prefer to buy there rather than pack them. Thanks!

Just about every town in CR has a dollar type store that sells a lot of plastics, cheap canned goods, cosmetics and bric a brac, those stores will definitely carry the rain poncho. In fact, I noticed a bunch of them in Grecia today. Have a great holiday.

Target sell cheap and compact ponchos, but for me they are way too hot for the Caribe Sur. Bring small umbrella.

Very few wear them. If it is raining hard... People just stay put till it passes. I agree, just bring a compact unmbrella. If you feel generous, you can leave it behind for the cleaning staff. They will make very good use of it ;-)
