Transportation from SanJose airport to Westfalia/Puerto Limo

We are flying into San Jose for a week in Costa Rica. First three nights are in Westfalia just south of Limon followed by four nights at EARTH University in Guacimo. We are considering skipping the taxi and using public transportation both to get back and forth from the airport and while we explore the area. We don't speak spanish and want to know if it will be easy, fun, and cheaper than renting a car. Don't want to have a big hassle just to save a little bit of money.

You will save a lot of money riding the public bus..but of course is nicer to have a car around there.

In Guacimo since you are staying at EARTH maybe you can do it without a car...

Very easy to do, take bus to Puerto Viejo de Limon from the Caribe Terminal and ask driver to drop you off at Westfalia, just outside of Limon on way to PV.

Or take bus to Limon and then taxi to Westfalia. If I was you, I would go all the way to Puerto Viejo, safer to stay there.
