Can anyone tell me what the dining options are while staying at the Peace Lodge?
Breakfast is a buffet in their breakfast restaurant. Fruit, made to order eggs, Eggs Benedict, quiche, toasts, yogurt, fruit juices - basic breakfast buffet fare... and good. This is no longer included with the rooms and you have to pay for it.
Lunch - They have a restaurant with a lunch buffet. It looked good, rice, beans, plantains.... sodas
We did not eat here.
Trout Bar - We had lunch here. I think they are open until 5 or 6 pm and open at 11 AM. We liked their food. The nachos were really good and the Chicken Club was good too. We ate late lunches here and skipped their dinner.
They have a restaurant for dinner. You have to make reservations. It is 35 dollars a person, but somehow our bill was 138 for two people. We did not enjoy the food here, and only ate here once in our three nights. But I have read that some people love it. Who knows. Just stay away from the seafood - order that on the coast.
4 restaurants on the property. They are okay, nothing to write home about.
Edit: They are okay, dinner was nothing to write home about.
We decided to stay at the peace lodge since it is just one and half hours from the san jose airport...and we didn't wish to stay in san jose...not sure thought what activities are in the area...any reco's?
