antares vs. marlin del rey

We are looking into a sunset cruise and see that the Antares schooner has excellent reviews. Can anyone compare it to the Marlin Del Rey which also has great reviews?

Hey Susan,

So there are a couple differences, the main one being that a catamaran is a more stable sailing platform whereas a schooner sways a little bit more. The schooner will definitely give you a more authentic sailing experience, but will probably be a bit much if you are prone to motion sickness. Secondly, the marlin del rey has a higher capacity, so your experience might vary depending upon the season and the kind of crowd that shows up for the tour. For example, if you end up taking the marlin del rey during spring break, you might end up on a party boat however the same tour in February might be tame and quiet.... You can say the same for the anatares, but with a smaller capacity, the probability of a party boat might end up being a little less.

I've only done the Marlin, but it's always been so fun, we usually do it twice every year. Getting ready for our 8th trip there and will be doing it again!
