We stayed in several condos and hotels both in Tamarindo and Flamingo, and preferred Sunrise Condos the best. We enjoy the condos better, since they offer more room (2-3 bedrooms), full kitchens and 2 baths. We bought food for breakfast and lunches, and ate out for dinner. We saved a lot of money by doing this and buying our own beer and liquor to enjoy at the pool or beach. We stayed in Sunrise #38 and were extremely pleased with the condo, the pool, and the complex. The unit we stayed in was clean, well equipped and had comfortable beds. Loved the sunsets and the view of the ocean! The location is steps from the beach with a grocery store across the street. If you stay at a condo, I would advise that you look at the pictures, as each condo appears to be individually owned and managed. The one we stayed at was recently updated with new linens, TVs and new beds. We booked through www.BlueWaterPropertiesOfCostaRica.com. Enjoy your trip! You can't go wrong in Tamarindo!

We travel between Christmas and New Years every year and go to a different spot that is warm. This will be our first year in Tamarindo, but have ALWAYS stayed in a condo. If you wait until we return i can provide details.

Here in the town have good choice:

1- Rpm

2-Coastal Realty

3-BW Tamarindo Vista Villas

4- Cala Luna

5- VIlla Alegre

THe price would be change but all them have full kitchen, you can contact them and decided the best for you.

Good Luck !

We stayed at Horizontes condos in Playa Langosta and it was beautiful. You can find several condos for rent on vrbo or through RPM realty. Langosta is down a dirt and gravel road from Tamarindo, so it is a bit of a hike (about a three minute drive though) if you don't have a car, but a taxi could not be too much, but there are others on this forum who could tell you about how much a taxi would be. But we could not have been more pleased with the condo or the location (as close to the beach as you can get).
