Roads, Rocks, and Mosquitos

To all,

Please use this forum to post your opinions of Tamarindo or Costa Rica not the hotel review. It is unfair to fault the hotel for things like the road conditions, rocky beaches, or mosquitos. These are things that are a part of living here and not the fault of the individual hotel. Most businesses here are owner/ operator and take reviews seriously, but there is little we can do if you leave a bad review about the roads. As we are not in charge of the road repairs.

Sorry, but this is how it goes with hotel reviews, regardless of the location. People give bad reviews because there was construction across the street, they didn't like the city they were in, etc.

On the other hand, these same people will give a great review to a so-so hotel because the weather was good.

People who read a lot of reviews will have learned to pick that sort of thing out.

My favourite story was for a rustic property in the jungle and 2 different reviewers complained that there were bugs, and the monkeys woke them up early in the morning. Sure, it's not the fault of the resort. And that's the kind of thing most people going to that type of resort would want. But it's probably helpful to someone who wants a sterile, Americanized mega-resort to know that this is not it.
