Any tips on getting from the airport in Liberia to Samara? Early afternoon arrival. Thanks.
Rent a car and drive. It is an enjoyable drive and paved all the way. You should be able to drive it easily in 2-3 hours.
If you dont want to rent a car and want to get your ride set up ahead of time, I suggest using Carrillo Tours who can pick you up in a tourist van(http://www.carrillotours.com/), or you can grab one of the many taxis that will be waiting for you when you come out of the airport. It's usually about $100-125 for a van to Samara (you should be able to talk a taxi down under $100 these days - but prepare to negotiate).
I am trying to figure out the same thing.. did you have any luck?
I've found that doing a one way car rental with Budget or Alamo seems to be the best deal unless you have a large group looking to share a van.
We ended up negotiating a cab from Liberia to Samara for $80. Heard that is about the cheapest one can get, made a friend in Samara and she helped us negotiate a $90 cab ride back. Took quite a bit of negotiating at the airport but it all worked out fine.
How much is a car rental from Liberia to samara?
check out Budget and rent one way then rent one way for your return should not need one inbetween unless you want to see the countryside
It will cost you roughly $100 for a sedan and somewhat more for a 4x4. However, for this stretch of road, a normal sedan is all you need.
The car itself will run around $30. Insurance should be another $15, and the one-way drop-off charge is usually $50. Add gas and you are at about $100.
