We're planning a trip to CR in February. We'd like to spend a few nights in either Samara and/or Montezuma/Malpais/Saint Teresa. We will be coming from Monteverde and will have our own car.
I've read/heard that the drive from Monteverde to Samara is about 5 hours. If we were to drive all the way to Malpais, how long would the drive be? Would it be better to take the ferry?
from Monteverde you drive to Puntarenas then get the ferry over the Nicoya Peninsula then drive down to Montezuma.
From there its only 30 mins drive to Mal Pais.
How long of a trip do you think this would be?
