Around La Fortuna

We are looking to stay several days in and around La Fortuna and we were wondering if the Tabacon resort is worth the $$$ or if there are better options?

Tabacon has nice rooms and the hot springs are excellent. I'm not sure the hotel is worth the money. Lost Iguana and Arenal Nayara are very good hotels. I also like Arenal Springs, which is a great value for the money.

IMO it's not worth the money...I'd say save your money for exploring and having fun on zip lines, etc. Arenal Nayara is a fabulous hotel! Another couple to check out are Lomas del Volcan and I love The Springs Resort & Spa (I live 5 minutes from it and am there often-the rooms are amazing...the same owner as La Paz Waterfall Gardens & Peace Lodge). Arenal Manoa and Arenal Springs are nice hotels but they are BIG so you can have over 200 people eating breakfast at once so just something to be aware of. :-) Enjoy!

Hard to say--what is important to one person may not be important to another. Plenty of good options in all price categories, so best to research and see what appeals to you.
