Arenal Hotel - Lost Iguana, Hotel Silencio, Los Lagos

We're traveling to Costa Rica during the last week of August, spending 3 nights in Arenal area, 4 nights in Manual Antonio (Tulemar). We have two young kids, ages 3 and 5 and will have a rental car for transport from site to site. Hotel decision in Arenal area is down to Lost Iguana, Hotel el Silencio del Campo, and Los Lagos. We plan to do some exploring/activites and spend some time at the pool. I'd love input on these three hotels from people who have stayed with or visited them, especially with young kids. Any extra input on great activities for kids this age would be much appreciated as well!

We just stayed at Los Lagos 2 weeks ago. We had our 2 kids with us but ours are a little older, 15 & 11. They really enjoyed the water slides, pools, and hot springs (the springs are all different temperatures, the hottest being towards the top of the hill). There is plenty to keep kids busy there. They have a great little walking path that will take you to their butterfly farm, ant farm, frog farm, and crocodile exhibit. They also have a small man made "lake" that has one of those big water pedal bikes you can use. There is a road that goes up to their volcano observation point (4x4 is helpful) and has a small covered area to picnic or relax in. We enjoyed watching the leaf cutter ants that were up there. They also offer horseback riding and zip lining on site. Breakfast is included and was buffet style. About a 10 minute ride into town. We had a Superior room and it was good sized. 2 double beds that had roll-aways underneath. Front and back balcony that had the most amazing view of the volcano. Those rooms are further up the hill but we didn't mind since we had a rental car but if you want convenience you might as for a room close to the pool area then you'll be able to walk to everything. Any other questions feel free to ask. Also had a friend who stayed at Hotel el Silencio del Campo with his family, their son was only about 2 at the time and they enjoyed having the separate cabins and said the hot springs were very nice. Both have great TA reviews.
