What to pack

Hi

This may be a daft question but I'm thinking of my weight allowance.

Will i need a warm waterproof coat for the rainforest?

I'm working out what type of clothing I'll need to pack

That depends upon what temperatures you're accustomed to. I get chilled in the mist but I'm a Floridian. Daytime temperatures rarely drop below 70F; I see people hiking in tank tops and shorts.

Thankyou

I'm from the UK so I'm well accustomed to cold weather.

Even our summer is cold lol

See a suggested packing list for CR here - costa-rica-guide.com/practical/… .

We found an item with long sleeves needed in Arenal in the early mornings. I had a thin zipper shirt,

Iike a thin sweatshirt, which I also needed for the flights and for the waiting area in SJO airport, which was the T of a freezer (!), just awful - one gate at the end...

We saw other guests coming to breakfast at our hotel by Arenal volcano - wearing fleece sweatshirts with a thin rain jacket on top. A small folding rain jacket or portable rain ponchos are always a good idea for CR, as well as an umbrella in your checked luggage, as rain gear might make you feel too hot underneath.

That's how I would dress. Travelers more accustomed to cold, damp weather at home seem to be more comfortable.
