Drinking water, treasure Island

We are traveling to fiji staying at treasure island with our 3 children aged 11 months, 9 and 11. Is the water ok to drink or should we take bottled water?

Hi Andy,

On our recent trip to Treasure, and on previous trips to Mana, we have taken bottled water with us for drinking. We use the tap water for teeth etc. At meal times we ask for bottled water.

We rather to "be safe than sorry", and we (family of five) have not had any tummy upsets on our trips.

It is a good idea to buy it on the mainland as it can be expensive on the islands.

Safe travels,

Cindy

I second the bottled water recommendation. Treasure gets water piped from the mainland but I wouldn't drink it. Most of our party had tummy upsets at one point or another last time we visited, those that avoided drinking the tap water weren't troubled. Also avoid the ice (made from the tap water we think)

We're going there shortly and will be bringing bottled water over from the mainland for our stay.

There is a supermarket at the marina where you can buy bottled water before boarding the ferry. It's also good for stocking up on snacks, etc. Hope you have a great holiday :)

The water at the Duty Free at Nadi Airport is also a good price - I am sure we only paid FJD$12 for 6 1 litre bottles. It also gives you something to do while waiting for your luggage to come off the carousel!
