Snorkeling gear for kids

We are going to be in Navini in the beginning of June for 7 days. I would like to know if Navini has a good selection of snorkeling gear for children (my daughter is 10 and has a small face).

Have never been to Navini, but we always take our own snorkelling gear no matter what resort we go to. Many resorts say that they have 'free' snorkelling equipement, but it might cost you for the mouth piece or snorkel, Shangri La did this.

Also if you take your own you are guarenteed a good fit or then can be a little worse for wear. Nothing worse than a leaking mask or fins that keep falling off your feet!

Nola :)

Hopefully, Hooked on Fiji a destination expert for Navini will respond. Believe she may be in Fiji now. We don't have kids, but also take our snorkeling equipment with us for the reasons given by beerwalk. Even tho equipment is cleaned after each use, there is just something about knowing no one else has used the snorkel.

I agree...we are heading over again in June and this time we have purchased our own snorkelling gear to take with us. They don't take up much room luggage wise and you are never sure if you are going to get a good fit if you use theirs and you want to enjoy the underwater view...not be constantly "fixing" your equipment.

Totally agree with beerwalk, E&CinReno, and tassie1960. We brought some cheap MIRAGE snorkeling sets from rebel Sports a couple of years ago for about $30 and have used them in Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Fiji and will be using them again very shortly as w are heading to Fiji again in just over 2 weeks (cant wait). if you intend on doing a bit of snorkeling, taking your own snorkeling sets is well worth it and for a small amount of $$$ you know that the set you have fits properly and wont leak. When we were in Rarotonga last year we were glad that we took our own sets as the snorkeling sets that the 4.5 / 5 star resorts had were in poor condition.

Your daughter may like a noodle for the water. They fold up easy in the suitcase and you can leave them there after your holiday for someone else. They will giver her confidence while snorkelling in the deeper water.

Great for floating with too.

We just got back from Navini on Monday. You will love it! Snorkelling gear is free, along with beach towels. It was all in very good condition. I suggest you email them and ask about the size of the snorkel gear for your daughter. They are very helpful and will get back to you quickly.
