Meal Package vs Pay as you go

We are going to Matamonoa in July and the meal package looks quite expensive considering the exchange rate now. Has anyone got any ideas or which would be better? Thanks

We have been to Matamanoa many times and have always had the a la carte menu and it khas worked out cheaper for us as we do not eat a big lunch. Breakfast was included in the room rate but not sure if that is still the case. We found there was more variety on the a la carte menu too. If you are booking through an agent then a la carte may be cheaper or buy the meal plane there if you can and pay in F$.

We have also been to Matamanoa several times and have never bought the meal plan - too much food for us to do justice to!! Assuming breakfast is still included, we found that all we needed for lunch was a single course and sometimes we even shared one meal. Dinner was often curry which we both loved and again one course was plenty.

We have just returned from Matamonoa for the first time. You will love it. We had full board. Huge choice to choose from. Had pre paid so no worries about how much everything cost. Compared to ozzie prices at say Gold Coast. Cheap Cheap Cheap. Yes we ate heaps but isnt that part of being on a holiday and not having to worry about food. If not sure just get the half board and pay for lunch. We had so much to choose from al carte and the fixed dinner was also available . We could have three courses...... Appertizers, entrees main and dinner................... You wont be dissapointed.. Food was great. Rebecca and Kara will look after you. Mention Tyndo from Australia to Kara and see her laugh. Vineka . Enjoy.

Hi,

No we stayed in the hotel rooms. They were great. Newly refurbished with new bathrooms. We had a devan and table on the porch at the front as well.

2 minute walk to the beach. Did check out the beachfront bure though. Just bigger than our rooms and closer to the beach. We werent in the rooms much so didnt feel we missed out on much. The snorkelling was great. Do it in the mornings as the tide goes out in the arvo and its to shallow to swim. Vinaka.

Tyndo.

We got the full board which consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner. No drinks packages available. We did take alcohol duty free with us. Prices were okay. No dearer than at some of the places on the mainland. The price and food list is available on their website. Meals were great. Fish fish here we come.

Nightly entertainment. Very relaxing. Tyndo.

Have stayed in beachfront bure last year, fabulous. Had paid for half board and worked really well as the breakfast was huge so only brought lunch occasionally, but nice not to have big bill at end of stay. Amazing dive team, going back end of this year, can't wait

We are going in December and have booked the Full-Board but I have a question please. The blerb in the website says "Dinner is a choice of either the Table d'hote Menu or an A la Carte Menu either on FB or HB & the Sunday Evening BBQ Seafood Buffet, those on Meal Plan can choose from either menu"

However I am getting the idea that those on the meal plan can only choose from a limited menu - is that correct?

Thanks
