Plantation Island - 1br garden terrace and general tips

We are two families meeting in Fiji. We plan to stay at PIR and have decided on the 1BR garden Terrace bures. I understand there are some newer units. Does anyone know which unit numbers those are or what side of the resort these are on? Can we request neighboring/adjoining units?

We are traveling with 3 kids (14, 8, and 5) so any tips are appreciated. This is our first trip to Fiji. Thanks.

Hi lipase, and welcome to the forum,

Haven't stayed at the resort, so can't help with your questions. Suggest contacting the resort via their website for answers to your questions and other helpful information on tours/activities, kids club, etc. Has been our experience resorts were willing to respond to our inquires. There is also a live webcam where you can see pictures of the beach.

We requested specific bures at resorts we stayed at. They will try to accommodate you, but there are no guarantees. The sooner you and your friends book, the better the chance of getting the accommodations you want especially if you are going during the Australia or New Zealand school holidays.

Coming for the from the states you will need an adapter angled for Australia for charging camera, laptop batteries. We also take a power strip and a small power strip for charging more than one battery at the same time. Recommend purchasing alcohol at the duty free shop at the airport in Nadi for having drinks in your room/bure. Most resorts will not allow you to take your own drinks into the dining room. We can't purchase our brand of choice in Fiji, so take the amount allowed by customs in our checked luggage. You might also take some chips, crackers, cookies, and other snacks. Be sure to declare any food items you take with you.

As this is your first trip to Fiji, have a look at the following. Has other suggestions of what to take with you.

Hope this helps. Have a wonderful vacation to Fiji.

Hi Gerry

Thinking of going to plantation island resort. Would the 2 bedroom bures fit 2 couples plus 3 and 1 year old? Was thinking of getting a 2 bedroom bure for our family, kids and grandparents and then also getting a studio for my sister, husband and 1 year old. Or do you think we are best just having the 2 bedroom bure to ourselves and the grandparents also staying In a studio? Just unsure of the size of the 2 bed bures

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I think the 2 bedrrom garden bures are the biggest . I think they fit 6 people.. Check on the plantation website as they have photos of the rooms and the layout. We stayed in a beachfront bure which was awesome but they only fit 4 people. Plantation is awesome. Have a great time.
