Hi nurcheong,

The weekend market opens friday to Sunday night (6-12pm). Sometimes it may be open during public holiday but it is hard to tell. The night market community may tell the vendor it will be open but I have no contact for that.

You should try to stay on Sunday night if you cannot make it on Friday or Saturday.

Local tourists go to Malacca mainly for food. You can try out Nyonya food, satay celup and some hawker food in Newton (Ujong pasir). The historic site is not only china town and Dutch Square nowsaday, you can take river cruise and go to the revolving tower.

The Dataran Pahlawan mall is also quite worth a visit to cool off and window shop. There are also some interesting snack options in the fountain area of the mall.

Hi Nurcheong,

Sorry to disappoint you but none of the Malaccan beach resorts have swimmable beach as they are too polluted by the busy shipping and also the corrusion caused by excessive land reclaim.

You should stick to city center hotel with swimming pool.
