Hi

Jalan Bunga Raya is quite a busy one way street at the right of the traffic light before entering the the rows of red shophouse leading to Dutch Square.

From Jonker Walk, turn left at the junction of the bridge linking Dutch Square, right to cross another bridge and immediate left into Jalan Bunga Raya.

Fried Oyster Omelette

On the right lane in Bunga Raya. It say Bunga Raya Food Court. Open 7pm-12.30am. Closes on Tuesday.

Located in a small lane off the Jalan Bunga Raya main street, this store has a steady stream of customers until closing time. The Malaccan-style oyster omelet is a combination of rice flour batter, eggs and oysters, fried in a flat wok over very high heat. It has a drier texture with lost of coriander leaves for garnishing.

In the day time, between 10am-3pm, there are few stores selling roasted pork and duck rice. The first stall that is also the oyster omelet stall (different vendor) at night is most popular.

Cockles and Shellfish Stall

A small lane after Madam King’s department store on the right of Jalan Bunga Raya. Opens 7-11pm. Closes on Sundays. It takes great courage to wonder into dark eerie side lanes like this one. Located in the narrow dark lane lighted up by hurricane lamps, this stall serves cockles, snails and other shellfish such as siput sawah, kepah and kijing eaten with a calamansi lime flavoured sambal sauce. Other yummy things includes sotong kangkung, fish ball, tofu skin and century egg. The first stall is the popular one, the second stall is not as good.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the direction!

I returned from malacca last night. Went a few rounds around Jalan Bunga Raya but couldn't find the

both famous stalls. I will try again next time with your directions.

So the Fried Oyster Omelette is at Bunga Raya Food Court. Is it located beside the old Capitol Cinema?

Hi,

I wonder why you did not try to ask people for direction. Otherwise get the RM3 map from tourist office next time.

The old capitol cinema is not in Jalan Bunga Raya which is the narrower street running paralel next to it. Jalan Bendahara is where the cinema is and the traffic direction is toward Dutch Square.

Jalan Bunga Raya is right turn at the end of Jalan Bendahara traffic light before you enter the rows of Red Houses.

Actually, if you walk toward the end of capitol cinema empty car park is where the same lane on your right where the famous crockle stall is. Of course, you will exit to Jalan Bunga Raya past the stall (not open in the day time).
