Sundarbans

I am in Kolkata next week and would like to visit the Sundarbans but due to short time only have 1 day available. Does anyone know if it is possible and worth while to make a trip for the day. I particularly like the idea of a small boat looking for elusive Tigers.

Any help / suggestions gratefully accepted.

Carry light woolens, casual clothes and any comfortable footware. Because temperature of Sundarban is not so cold compare to Kolkata. You'll get hardly scope to walk, hence foot wear is not so important. Must carry torch and essential medicines.

In package tour, you'll get hardly any scope to walk inside the village.
