South India Holiday

Hi Friends,

Our family is planning a trip to South India in December end. We are a family of 6 incl. My Parents - both 65+ and 2 kids - 5 & 11. Its mainly a pilgrimage tour trying to cover all major temples & cities like Tirupati, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Mahabalipuram etc. In addition, we would also like to visit places like Banglore, Ooty, Mysore, Chennai, Kanyakumari. We are planning a holiday of 10-12 days starting at Banglore. Could you please suggest a comfortable itinerary and also best places to stay & mode of travel.

Thanks.

Bangalore > Mysore > Ooty > Madurai > Rameshwaram > Kanyakumari > Chennai.

Chennai > Mamallapuram > Chennai

Chennai > Thirupati > Chennai

You can make first part of the itinerary by train and part 2 and 3 by car or tourist bus.

Without knowing your budget, recommendation of hotels is not possible.

Dear Asis,

Thanks for your response.

Could you please elaborate on the itinerary. How many days would we require to cover the same. Can we get decent accommodation say around 1000 per day.

Thanks again.

Regards

Tapan
