Because not many Indian women drink, and if this rule was not in place, the clubs would be full of guys and very few women. That can get difficult for the few women who do go to clubs. The rule doesn't apply to clubs in hotels where you're staying - for example, at Bike and Barrel in Residency Hotel.

On weekends, it's most likely to be 'couples only', but on weekdays, you might be able to get in alone.

They have a good pub lunch that runs on weekdays..
