How to get to Hotel Residency Towers from Central Station

Hello Chennai Experts--

We are arriving by train from Bangalore, at the Chennai Central Station. How do we get from the station to T.Nagar Sri Thyagarja Road? Auto, taxi, bus? We will not have much luggage. Chennai autos/taxis always seem to rip you off. Hence, the question.

Perhaps it's not such a bad thing, to pay a slightly higher price for an auto-rickshaw ride? The overcharging is likely to be a couple of dollars. I say, let it be. Pay more than he asks you, you'll leave some happiness behind. The guy probably has a family to feed.

If you are arriving late in the night say after 10pm, better option would be to take a taxi and an auto...from the prepaid counter.

If you are arriving early in the morning or in the afternoon, you can take a bus ...Cross over the road opposite to the station and take a bus No.18 and buy a ticket to Teynampet. Get off at the Teynampet. Infront of you(diagonally), you will see Thiyagaraya Road....or ask any one.. Walk a bit about 5mnts and you can reach your hotel.

It is about 6kms from the station and takes about 20mnts with all bus stops and traffic.

All the best.
