Recommended Luxury Trains like Maharajah Express and Others

My husband and I are in our late 70s but in very good health and shape.

Walking is not restricted nor is anything else. We would like to do a train tour and have seen quite a few like the above, Palace on Wheels, etc.

We are confused as where to start. This will probably be our only trip and we want to see Taj Mahal, some palaces, the desert, etc. Any recommendations gratefully appreciated as well as advice on who to deal with to get the best prices without cutting on quality. Also best time of year for the weather? Thank you very much, India appears fascinating and we would love to do it!

U can visit places like Rajasthan (deserts, palaces), Delhi & Agra for forts, Taj Mahal etc. All these places are in North India. If u r planning to spend a long vacation, u can visit Kerala - famous for its temples, hill stations, beaches, backwater etc and also Goa. Just browse through the state specific tourism department website of these places to get more info.
