Re Great Rail Journeys - Grand tour of India and Nepal

Hi

Has anyone used this company and this particular tour recently?

And would you recommend it to 2 Western ladies of a certain age?

I'm particularly worried about road travel and distances and would prefer train journeys

Thanks

Hi jmac,

I haven't heard or used this company before but I just wanted to comment that by taking the train most places you will miss out on so much interesting scenery and chances for interaction in the small villages and towns along your journey. My friend and I just did part of India and Nepal by car & driver & plane and I'm so glad we didn't miss any of the little bits in between! Here is our trip review if you are interested. We used a great tour operator called Times India Travels.

Hope that helps! Sandy

greatrail.com/tours/grand-tour-india-nepal.a…

if yes, i think it is good. try this, although i have never did this one yet...

just do conform that you are under there FIT or with some of group.

IF FIT then what seats you gonna get, who else would be there with you in train as in one coach there are 8 people.

If group then do ask them what group and what people you are getting mixed up with. hom many of female members are. etc,,,

just returned from GRJ grand tour of India and Nepal. Would not recommend it. far too hectic with no free time. Some lovely hotels but no time to enjoy the facilities and too many early morning starts ie up at 4.30am

We have now booked this trip but it does look very hectic and that does worry me ...

Is it possible to avoid the early starts? Or miss out anything and stay at the hotel and take things a bit more leisurely ? Thanks again

Are the 4.30 and early starts for excursions or to get from A to B? Thanks
