Advice wanted for Delhi-Agra by Bus & Delhi-Ajmer by train

We are a family (foreigner) with chlld planning to travel this winter from Delhi to Agra by bus and then back. Then again Delhi to Ajmer by Shatabdi Express.

We would appreciate any tips for the safest way to travel to these destinations without becoming trapped by touts / scams and any other safety tips would be appreciated.

What bus service is the best from Delhi to Agra in terms of comfort and safety? Do the tickets need to be prebooked or where would the tickets be available?

As regards the train station, how easy is it to find the right platform etc?

Hi Shweta Sureka.

Thanks for your reply. We are coming back to Delhi because we don't want to do overnight train travel from Agra to Ajmer. Was told that it would be overnight? Do you know if that is correct?

And our train is booked from Delhi to Ajmer. Can't change it now or we lose the money.

Our hotel in Delhi is a top-tier hotel. Pretty sure they'll be able to do pick up by hotel transport. Inquiring about that now. Just mainly wanted to know whether the station itself is safe.

P.S Again thanks for your note of caution about travelling at night on the 31st. So still wanting to know about earlier trains back, even day time. We will have had one day to enjoy Agra already on 30. So no problem coming back by earlier train even on the 31st day time especially as H. Nizamuddin is advisable for tourists too. Any particular trains we could look at?

Found 4 trains that look like they're doable, all morning.

A P Exp (12723),

Karnataka Exp (12627)

Jbp Ndls Sup Ex (12192)

Rajdhani Exp (12433)

Can anyone please tell me, out of these 4, which one is most reliable and good?

You can trust Rajdhani, and AP express. But there was heavy for today. Hence, if similar fog exists on that day as well, then they might be running behind schedule. Rajdhani is a premium train of India. But i have checked you will not find seats in there. If you do not find seat then, if cost does not matter, you can hire a car.

Yes Agra to Ajmer is an over night journey.

A small misinformation. If you are cancelling your ticket now then only INR 60 per head is deducted and balance is refunded.

H. Nizamuddin is absolutely safe for tourist. Ask your pick-up vehicle to be at Platform No. 1 side which is more comfortable and less crouded side.

hi RAinColombo,

I think that this circuit can easily be done by private car to avoid any inconveniences. Private taxis is not expensive in India.

Bye.
