Hyatt Regency Delhi

I am going to be in New Delhi the first of next month. I was wondering if the Hyatt would be a good place to stay, since it is near the Embassy.

Thanks,

Hi Tammy. I've stayed there a few times and it's a fine hotel (as you would expect with any Hyatt Regency). Location isn't quite so critical in New Delhi since it's a very spread out city with attractions in diverse areas.

Cheers, --Kip

In the 2008 Travel+Leisure list of top hotels in Asia, there are three Delhi hotels:

Rank 33 - The Oberoi, New Delhi

Rank 38 - The Taj Mahal Hotel, Mansingh Road

Rank 50 - The Imperial, Delhi

If you can afford the Hyatt, you can afford these.

Agree with Deepa there.

Also while Imperial is about 7-8 kms from Chanakyapuri (where most embassies are located) the route via Lutyens Delhi, Prime Minister's residence and Shanti Path is stunningly green. It will take you all of 20 minutes to cover this distance (unless there is a VIP movement). Taj Mansingh, close to India Gate is also within 9 kms. The Oberoi is further off. All three hotels enjoy a much better location and proximity to tourist sites.
