We want to do a marriage ceremony in/around Kalutara

Folks,

Is there any possibility to get a wedding ceremony arrangement in Kalutara? We're going to stay in the Mermaid Hotel - more or less for honeymoon - and we want to kinda re-new our fresh wedding with a spectacular (!) ceremony in Sri Lanka. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Both the Mermaid and most other Kalutara hotels will be glad to offer you a 'Poruwa', with all whistles and (dancers & elephant) bells that you like and want to pay for!

Actually Sandya and me followed this same model 12 years ago: first we had a low-profile civil wedding, then applied for her residence visa in Europe, and only when that was arranged we booked the flight and had the full Poruwa ceremony in Lanka. So that is more or less independent from the civil thing, and can be arranged by the hotel to your liking!

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]

Hi

As Erik has correctly said, The Mermaid, and indeed most hotels in Sri Lanka would be very pleased to offer you what you have indicated.

Maybe a good idea to maybe contact them before you go, and ask what would be available.

Regards

Dave

Thanks for your feedback. So I'll contact the hotel directly to see what they can offer.
