Guides *required* for Sagada highlights?

I've seen information about guides being available and what they cost in Sagada. But are they required for the various gems of Sagada:

-Bomod-ok Falls, Echo Valley and hanging coffins, Kiltepan at sunrise...?

I've read some attractions reviews that mention guides and others that do not so I'm wondering if one needs a guide, safety-wise or to permit entry, to these attractions?

We also want to visit the Cave Connection tour but realize we NEED a guide for that one.

Thanks

We just went to Sagada, although you don't need a guide to go to the hanging coffins at Echo Valley, I would recommend it. It was very cheap, if you only want to go to the view point, it's only P200 per group and for P600 you can go on a longer 2-3 hour walk including the entrance to an underground river and a smaller waterfall. The paths are not marked and the guides will give you some interesting facts - easy to arrange on the spot at the tour guide office in town.

in sumaging ave and cave connection yes you need to have a fuide because there was a monitoring and they dont allow you to enter without local guide, but for the other destination in sagada yes you can do it by your selves many tourist do that ,but of course local municipality required it to support the locals for their living

Sagada is not in Ifugao. Sagada is in Mt Province; Banaue is in Ifugao.

Guides are required for all caving and for the Northern Barangays (Bomod-ok Falls). Nor required for other destinations, but recommended, especially for longer hikes where trails are unmarked and it is easy to end up somewhere other than where you want to be.

If you are going off on your own, please tell your guest house staff where you are going and when you intend to be back, as in any mountain area.

the local authority in sagada as of now are required all tourist to get a local guide, and every entrance of all the sites in sagada now having a monitoring guad they dont allow you to go and enter in all of the sites now without the pressence of local guide. ( exception ) during low seasson june - oct. only week end having a monitoring guide ia all of the spots ) coz more tourist during week end sumaging cave and cave connection was mandatory to get a guide coz you dont have a lamp to used inside the cave and the guide has. bomod ok better to get one coz you might lost your way. coz in the mountain there are some places that no people around to ask for direction
