Is ticket-machupicchu.com legitimate?

Hi, Currently the official website for purchasing tickets http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/ has suspended online purchasing due to high levels of fraud. As it is my preference to purchase tickets well in advance and not wait until my arrival in Cusco, I found http://www.ticket-machupicchu.com. Aside from taking advantage of the fact that the official site is not operating and charging more, is this site legitimate?

What are some other options to getting tickets ahead of time?

Thanks very much!

I too have the same issue as you have found I will be ordering my tickets from them today. My thought is that for about $12 extra per ticket I can afford this. From what I have heard there is a limit on the number of tickets available each day and you do take a chance that none will be available if you wait until your arrival to purchase them.

I agree, it's not so much the extra cost as it is making sure it's legitimate. I read warnings that many "scam sites" may be appearing as a result of the official site being suspended, so I wanted to do my homework.

Agreed. Since it is paid via a credit card there is some "assurance" as the credit card payment can always be disputed.

The wonderful manager at our hotel in Cusco purchased our MP entrance tickets for us while we were home and we printed them online.

SO SORRY!!!! PLEASE FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID! I was totally wrong and jumped to conclusions falsely!!! Their website IS legitimate and I made a really horrible error falsely accusing them, I accept responsibility and feel very bad. my compromised debit card was actually because of my previous failed attempt with the official MP website (I had thought, because the transaction didn't process because the site is shut down, that nothing happened, but apparently not, my card info was still gathered because I attempted with the official MP website).

The people at this site are really understanding, timely, and I got my MP ticket from them successfully. I'm really sorry for the huge error!!! They are legit.
