hello,
we would like to travel from merzouga to marrakech...
any tips? we haven't found a direct route yet, and we'd really like to find out which bus/grand taxi/etc would be most advisable to take?
thanks!
Hi,
I've posted a review about it, I have included public transportation and costs...etc; I guess I have just pointed the route from Marrakesh, but the review is useful and do the route I've mentioned from the other sense - that mean - the tips I gave workes both ways.
The review is titled under (travel to hassi Labied merzouga erge chebbi).
Hiya, you can take the taxi from merzouga to Rissani, then an other taxi or the bus from Rissani to Errachidia. From Errachidia, there is a direct bus to Marrakech, and this is the best option;otherwise, you have to take taxi along the way from merzouga to Marrakech with stops in Rissani,Erfoud,Tinghir,Ourzazate and Finally Marrakech.
Hi Emma and welcome to the Forum!
I'd suggest renting a car and driving yourself, if you can afford it. It's about 600km's. 1 tank of gas should be enough. Around 9 hours driving, total.
It's recommended to stop for the night somewhere before crossing over the Atlas Mtns, and then driving the remainder of the distance to Marrakech the next day. Near Agdz, Skoura, or Ouarzazate would be sensible options. Either the N10 or N12 are good routes; paved with differing scenery in each. (I prefer the N12 for it's rock desert and Anti Atlas Mtns.)
Merz-Marr can be driven in 1 day, but you'll miss a lot of sights, have a long driving day, and crossing over the Atlas Mtns...tired...and maybe in the dark would not be advised.
Happy travels.
Thank you all so much for the tips!
Hi,
We would like to rent a car and go from Merzouga to Marrakech, but we can't find any car rentals in Merzouga, Rissani or Erfoud. Anyone who has any idea of agency or contacts?

from Merzouga to Marrakech - you can take a shared taxi to Rissani or Erfoud and from Erfoud it is going now the buses to Ouarzazate and then to Marrakech. You not therefore not go by shared taxi to Errachidia (there is actually nothing to see either)
