redang to Perhentian islands

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in spending a week on Redang and a week on the perhentian islands.

Can anyone tell me if you can get a boat transfer from Redang to the Perhentians? Or what is the easiest and quickest way to get from one to the other?

Thanks :)

Hi Katesim,

The quickiest way to go from Redang to Perhentian is by speed boat. This option however can be very expensive. Boat charter is between RM500 to RM700 per boat per way. Check with the resort you book to stay in Redang or Perhentian for quotation.

Many hotels or boat agents offer this transfer if there are enough passengers to cover the cost. If you are lucky, there may be people taking the island day trip on that day and you may just pay about RM100-RM200 for the transfer.

The boat journey from Redang to Perhentian takes around 45 minutes. Alternatively, u can use the return transfer boat from Redang to Merang jetty in the mainland and hire a cab to Kuala Besut jetty where there are speed boats to Perhentian.

Are you planning to go to Redang and Perhentian between Apr - Sep? These are are the better months weather wise.

Have you any idea what you can do in Redang & Perhentian ? Many people find 1 week in either island too long as there is nothing else to do besides the beach or snorkelling/diving. There is not much night life or none. But if you want to feel lost in island paradise, you can enjoy yourself there.
