Vung Tau expat bars..

Hey guys, anyone any info on expat bars. Will be doing a day trip and from what i gather there is Ned Kellys,Bellys and i think Tommies or somit, Maybe Come and Go V'N or Bertie can give me a run down on the places. I know that Cand G isn;t too keen on the place , but we old buggers have an affiliation . there and it certainly warrants a day on the slops puting our name on the walls once again. After that we;ll go back to being true tourists, promise.. Thanks in anticipation, Noddy

Are you just an old expat or a genuine vet?

I think Ned Kelly's & Belly's are where most of the older (no offence!) expat/vet crowd hang out. There's also Beach Club which is pretty pleasant, and a place called, if I remember correctly, Red Dragon, which was, er, interesting shall we say.

You're welcome, last time I went to Vung Tau it had smartened up considerably and there were a lot more places to eat/drink. It's 3.30pm here btw.

Good to hear Noddy5,

Then you will not just be staying just at VT but going out to Baria and Nui Dat too.Easy to do but vastly changed from our days there.

We probably have a friend in common, an FO, Sgt Bob Arthurson RAA . Bob is not travelling too well. Aust. TPI with other problems.

All best regards.

Noddy- this is well off topic but I wonder how the Afghani's will treat him in 45 years time if he does go back for a visit.

Part of the wonderful part of Visiting Vietnam is that here does not seem to be any animosity towards westerners.

Kameka, you would think a lot of the Vietnamese would have plenty to dislike about us,even if we thought we were there to help them. I think it is part of the wonderful character of Vietnamese that they outwardly show respect and warnth.A lot of us westerners could do with this trait. I love the people and would like half their character.. Afgani;s well that's another story; Noddy

Noddy- that is what amazed me when I visited Vietnam, first in 2001 and then again last year.

It was the topic of discussion between an Israeli man, a lady from Belgium and myself on the train coming back from Sapa and how some people in some partsof the world are able to live and forgive yet others live with hatred.
