First time in Phang Nga province...

Hi we are flying in to Phuket in feb 2013 for a relaxing 6 night stay somewhere. We are looking for beautiful quiet beaches but also access to nature trails/cycling...we are also keen to visit surin/similan islands.

We don't really want a transfer of longer than 2hrs from Phuket airport, and want to avoid low-rise resorts, but at the same time don't want to be too remote that we don't have a choice of day trips/restaurants etc.

Any recommended areas/islands/bungalow resorts would be most appreciated! How about khao lak?

about the first sentence into your post, I thought immediately of khao lak! About 90 minutes north of phuket airport it is an easy transfer. loads of beachfront hotels and an easy trip to the similan islands by speedboat. Many other day trip choices as well.

have a look at the KL forum to get a flavour of things.

Great khao Lak it is I think! Thanks a lot to you both. Those holiday snaps look amazing.

We've found a relatively new hotel near khuk khak beach called 'KhaoLak blue lagoon resort', anyone heard of it?

Kaoh Sok national park looks amazing, wls anyone recommend a your company please?

And is it worth going to similan/surin islands too? Or are the beaches around khao lak just as beautiful?

Thanks
