Avoiding the crowds - how early can I get to Phang Nga?

Hi there!

My boyfriend and I are both intermediate level photographers. We'd like to visit the islands around Phang Nga, but preferably when there aren't as many tourists. We'll be in Thailand in "low season" (end of July - beginning of August) I know there will be more people there, but how early can you get to Phang Nga (the islands - I think it was Ko Phing Kan and Ko Yao Noi & Koh Yao Yai) from Phuket? Would it be best to take a tour or hire a longtail (with a guide) early in the morning?

thanks so
