weather

Hello!

Has anyone been to Khao Lak/Phuket are in April/May? We are planning to go at the end of April/start of May and are a bit worried about the rainfall. We really like snorkelling as well so would be disappointed if the sea was too rough to go - any advice please?

I just came back from PhangNga, the weather there was good, sunny with some rain at night, the sea was nice, should be good for snorkelling. April should still be OK but not sure for May since normally the rain will be more heavy start from May onward.

Should be no problems. The rainy season doesn't kick off for another month or so, and that's only the start of the rainy season. Digs in around August. But even when there is rain down south, the falls are usually heavy but short in time. So hot this time of year, most people appreciate a daily bout of quick rain to cool the air down a bit.
