Well ideally no more than £40/50 a night but hoping for less? Access to restaurants will be nice but definitely not going for a party! Quiet beaches, isolated or not, just not crawling with tourists and brits abroad!

Chalok Baan Kao sounds like a place you might enjoy, Ko Tao Resort is where we've stayed previously which was well priced and good location. Sensi Paradise is a really nice place with a super beach location but far enough away from bars and restaurants. Not certain that would be within budget though. Even staying at the north end of Sairee allows you to have as much or little night life as you want which means Palm Leaf Resort might be an option too.

I agree with lushlynds - Palm Leaf Resort at the North end of Sairee is within your budget and on the beach. It's a very easy beach walk to the shops, bars and restaurants but far enough away when you want a bit of peace and quiet.
