If you are not forced to use train simply book from Lomprayah.com catamaran+buss. From Tao to BKK or vice versa without hassling.

Is this the website you've been using?

www.thairailticket.com/esrt/Default.aspx…

Have you tried using a different browser?

Thailand Train Ticket are an agent. The link I gave is for the State Railway.

If you do decide to book the whole journey with Lomprayah I would advise the daytime rather than the night travel. It's quicker, more comfortable and safer too.

As bbtony states you can book the tickets direct with the Thai railway and print your tickets at home. You can then book the ferry online with Lomprayah, http://www.lomprayah.com/E/index.htm and they provide the transfer from the pier to the station. You can only book train tickets 30 days in advance.

Hi!

On website www.thailandtrainticket.com is possible to book combo ticket Bangkok - Koh Tao. For example night sleeping train No 85 depart time: 19:30 arrival : 08:45. Is it combo with Lomprayah or other ferry ?

And if I book trough website www.thairailticket.com/esrt/Default.aspx… I must book separately train and then on lomprayah website catamaran ? Is it some taxi service from train station to pier ?

Thank you

Yes you book seperately. Thailand Train Ticket are a travel agent, who book them individually on your behalf then obviously add their commission for providing the service.

It's only Lomprayah catamaran that serves Chumphon to Koh Tao.

It's a bus transfer from the pier to the station and vice versa, it will be the same transfer regardless of how you book.

You can also book your Lomprayah ticket once you get off the train - there's usually a Lomprayah bus or office right outside the station waiting for passengers getting off the trains - very easy. Bear in mind that trains often run quite late in Thailand, so I always think it's best not to book ferries as you might not be able to make them on time.

when booking with Lomprayah, do you just take email cofirmation as tickets?
