Wacht out for big diving classes

When you arrive at Ko Tao, they will already on the boat to Ko Tao try to convince you to book your diving course with them. If you already find out which diving school you want to join for your course, don't change. The most of the diving schools offer a price of 8500B You think that is cheap, it is only 500B cheaper then all the other diving schools. The cheaper ones have big groups (up to 8), big and slow boats who drop you off at the diving site, you get class while you're on the way. It is so much better to pay 500B extra for small classes.

There are many dive centres here - some large - some small - some more tailored to specific languages. In short there is a dive centre here for everyone its just making sure that you get the right one for you.

Getting the right centre for you is more important than saving a few hundred baht!

So you can either read reviews on sites like this or you can have a wander around and speak to the centres in person once you are here.

I would also always reccommend people to decide on a few good dive shops before they arrive and then visit them when they arrive. Go in, chat to the staff, get a feel for the place, then make a decision. Your dive course should be an amazing one, don't let saving a few Thai Baht get in the way of this!
