Ko Phi Phi/ Ko Lanta December 2012- help appreciated!

Hi there , my fiance and I are plannig a trip for our honeymoor over Christmas and New Year to Ko Lanta/ Ko Phi Phi. We'll probably initially book into a very chilled resort called the Phi Phi relax beach for 5 nights. We're then looking for somewhere slightly more upbeat (but not too tacky/ touristy) for 5 nights or so over Christmas, mid price, proir to moving to Ko Lanta for a more luxurious break. Any recomendations for the middle part of our holiday on either island/ mainland really well received.

Many thanks, Ben

So many options... PP main village? (probably not, drunk backpackers everwhere). Railey? Possibly; beautiful beach but not much genuine. Outside Ao Nang, like Nopparath Thara beach? If you want the possibility of shopping/nightlife and Thai people watching! Koh Yao Noi (more genuine). Trang south of Lanta, like Ngai? Koh Yum (very convenient location for you)

On Phi Phi the Cabana and Banyan both get Ok results and are well located for the township - sadly the really top notch resorts are not located in Tonsai Bay area.
